your winter cure-all: warming turmeric tonic

Want to start your new year on the right note? Whether it’s January or June, we’re usually always looking for simple ways to boost our health, energy, and immunity. Superfood ingredients turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, raw honey, and apple cider vinegar blend together for a tart tea that can keep colds and flus at bay, improve digestion, combat cravings, clear skin… you get the picture: this spiced tea will cure whatever ails you.

Still not convinced? Let’s break it down by the ingredients:

+ Turmeric has been shown to: be rich in anti-oxidants, act as an anti-inflammatory, combat depression, improve joint/brain/heart health, prevent age related illness.

+ Ginger can: boost immunity, alleviate nausea, assist in digestion, reduce inflammation, and benefit the respiratory system.

+ Cinnamon may help: balance blood sugar/prevent diabetes, benefit brain/heart health, act as an anti-bacterial to remedy stomach bugs/flu, ease arthritis, improve mental clarity, and boost mood.

+ Raw Honey: can ease coughs, boost immunity, sooth sore throats, provide natural energy, and can clear and beautify skin.

+ Apple Cider Vinegar may assist with: detoxing, weight loss, immunity, lowering blood sugar, beautifying skin, fighting cold and flus.

Use the recipe as a guideline, and adjust to your tastes. I like to usually add a 1/4 cup of hemp milk and a dash of cayenne pepper for a creamy, spiced hot apple cider. These is a great tea to enjoy in the morning to help balance your body’s pH, boost energy, and curb sugar cravings throughout the day. I usually enjoy this after a meal as a warming, sweet treat to help digestion.
